Objective Osteoarthritis is one of the most common knee joint diseases. It a multifactorial, inflammatory, and destructive disorder that involves synovial tissues cartilage causes permanent pain, functional limitations, decrease in patients’ quality life (QoL). In advanced cases disease, total arthroplasty performed to reduce pain improve function patients. The presence after this surgery major concern reduces QoL these people. One extra-articular involvement musculoskeletal system, cause which caused by active trigger points. Dry needling way deactivate This study aimed investigate effects dry on intensity patients with points muscles around arthroplasty. Materials & Methods research was before-and-after clinical trial study. study, 49 aged 55 80 years, at least 3 months past their still having were included an orthopedic specialist reviewing inclusion exclusion criteria. After first researcher considered criteria knee, including quadriceps, hamstring, gastrocsoleus, 27 qualified. amount before, week, month, measured compared based linear visual analog scale. Also, performance assessed injury osteoarthritis outcome score questionnaire. short-term Results results show significant difference (P<0.001) between before (57.2±8.9) week (10.8±33.6). there (P<0.006) (47.5±11.9) (42.3±10.6). No observed regarding month needling. Conclusion Performing session improves performance.
